EKO ORCHESTRA
La Eko Orchestra è un ensemble di chitarre composto da circa 35 giovani, tutti con un’età compresa tra gli 11 e i 25 anni. Questo affascinante progetto ha preso vita nel 2008 durante il Festival Internazionale della Chitarra di Castrocielo (FR), un evento musicale che ha ispirato numerosi ragazzi a innamorarsi della Musica e della Chitarra attraverso la partecipazione e l’osservazione dei concerti. Ciò che caratterizza questa orchestra è la sua componente fortemente pedagogica, unendo giovani provenienti da circa dodici comuni della Provincia di Frosinone, ciascuno portatore di esperienze, culture, conoscenze ed età differenti. Il lavoro musicale si basa sull’idea della cooperazione e del “mutuo soccorso”, promuovendo il senso di responsabilità anziché la competizione. Nel gruppo prevale un fattore sinergico veicolato dal potere empatico della musica. La Eko Orchestra ha affrontato una vasta gamma di generi musicali, tutti centrati sulle sonorità delle chitarre, arricchite dalla presenza del cajon, del tamburello a cornice e del contrabbasso.
Le sezioni per ogni brano scelto sono originali, scritte e arrangiate appositamente per l’orchestra di chitarre. Nel 2011, la Eko Orchestra è stata riconosciuta dal Ministero della Cultura come GRUPPO DI INTERESSE NAZIONALE.Nel 2017 è stato registrato un CD, e il ricavato dalle vendite è stato devoluto per sostenere il territorio di Amatrice colpito dal terremoto del 2016. Tra il 2016 e il 2017, la Eko Orchestra ha partecipato a due tour europei, suonando insieme ad altre due orchestre giovanili di chitarra francese e spagnola.
La Eko Orchestra ha avuto l’onore di esibirsi alla presenza di rinomati giornalisti come Michele Santoro, Marino Bartoletti e Antonio Padellaro. È stata protagonista nei programmi televisivi I SOLITI IGNOTI su Rai1, condotto da Amadeus, e IL POSTO GIUSTO su Rai3, dove è stato realizzato un servizio che ha raccontato la storia e le potenzialità inclusive e interdisciplinari di questa realtà musicale. Recentemente, la Eko Orchestra ha vinto il Concorso LAZIOSound 2022 nella categoria BORDERLESS, ha aperto il concerto di Max Gazzè in occasione della Festa della Musica 2022 a Roma e è stata ospite dello SPONZ FEST – Coultura 2022 con la direzione artistica di Vinicio Capossela.
Nel dicembre 2022, ha realizzato il suo primo videoclip con il nuovo singolo “GITANO”, presentato da Rainews. Nel 2023, la Eko Orchestra ha collaborato con artisti del calibro di Tosca, Daniele Fiaschi, Finaz, Massimo Varini e Pier Cortese, attirando l’attenzione di altri rinomati artisti sia nel campo classico che nel pop/rock.

The Eko Orchestra is a guitar ensemble comprising approximately 35 members, all aged between 11 and 25 years. This captivating project originated in 2008 during the International Guitar Festival in Castrocielo (FR), a musical event that inspired many young individuals to fall in love with Music and the Guitar by participating in and attending concerts.
What distinguishes this orchestra is its strong educational component, bringing together youths from around twelve municipalities in the Province of Frosinone, each bringing diverse experiences, cultures, knowledge, and ages. The musical work is based on the idea of cooperation and “mutual aid,” promoting a sense of responsibility rather than competition. The group thrives on a synergistic factor conveyed through the empathic power of music.
The Eko Orchestra has explored a wide range of musical genres, all centered around guitar sounds, enriched by the presence of the cajon, frame drum, and double bass.
Sections for each selected piece are original, written, and arranged specifically for the guitar orchestra. In 2011, the Eko Orchestra was recognized by the Ministry of Culture as a NATIONAL INTEREST GROUP.
In 2017, a CD was recorded, and the proceeds from sales were donated to support the area of Amatrice affected by the earthquake in 2016. Between 2016 and 2017, the Eko Orchestra participated in two European tours, playing alongside two other youth guitar orchestras from France and Spain.
The Eko Orchestra had the honor of performing in the presence of renowned journalists such as Michele Santoro, Marino Bartoletti, and Antonio Padellaro. It was featured in television programs like I SOLITI IGNOTI on Rai1, hosted by Amadeus, and IL POSTO GIUSTO on Rai3, where a segment highlighted the musical entity and its inclusive and interdisciplinary potential.
Recently, the Eko Orchestra won the LAZIOSound 2022 competition in the BORDERLESS category, opened for Max Gazzè at the 2022 Festa della Musica in Rome, and was a guest at SPONZ FEST – Coultura 2022 with artistic direction by Vinicio Capossela.
In December 2022, the orchestra released its first music video for the new single “GITANO,” presented by Rainews. In 2023, the Eko Orchestra collaborated with artists such as Tosca, Daniele Fiaschi, Finaz, Massimo Varini, and Pier Cortese, attracting the attention of other renowned artists in both the classical and pop/rock fields.
