Emanuele Misuraca

Emanuele Misuraca was born in Palermo in 1996 and showed an innate predisposition for music from an early age; he began his concert career at the age of 11. In June 2016 he got a master’s degree in piano with full marks and honors at the G.Verdi Conservatory in Milan under the guidance of the master Vincenzo Balzani.

He took part in different national and international competitions, always ranking among the first places. In 2010 he won the first prize at the Euterpe international competition (BA) where the jury, chaired by the famous pianist Lya De Barberiis, awarded him with the Euterpe prize and the critics’ prize. In the same year he also won the first prize in the Pia Tebaldini competition, which took place in Brescia, and in the A.M.A. Calabria competition.

He recorded music by Chopin and Rachmanioff in the Radio Classica studios in Milan, which were broadcasted in the programs “Ultimo Grido” and “Il Pianista”. He won the prize Monterosa Kawai, the first prize in the “Young Talents with orchestra città di Barlassina” competition and the “Mozart” international piano prize in Rome.

He carried out an intense concert activity for various national and international musical associations and attended high-level piano master classes with masters such as Leonel Morales, Vsevold Dworkin, Siavush Gadjiev, Reid Smith and Shuku Iwasaki. He made his debut at the Wiener Konzertaus in Vienna performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto K 491, under the direction of Tiziano Duca. Under the guidance of Maestro Ovidio Balan he performed the concerto no. 1 by Franz Liszt, enjoying enormous success. In March 2015 he won the first prize of the “Conservatory Prize” G. Verdi of Milan, in turn winning several concerts throughout the year 2016. The same summer he was invited to represent the same conservatory in the Hungarian pavilion of Expo; the concert was followed live on television from Hungary and from the cities of New York, Toronto and Tokyo.

In July 2016 he joined the cast of the Disney film “Come diventare grandi nonostante I genitori” (“How to become grown up despite parents”), directed by Luca Lucini; in the film he played the role of David. Later in 2017 he had the opportunity to compose the music for the soundtrack of the documentary “Mexico” which was awarded as best documentary at the Turin festival. In the same year he joined the cast of “Il Cacciatore” (“The Hunter”), a television series directed by Stefano Lodovichi and Davide Marengo and broadcasted on Rai 2, playing the role of Saverio Barone. In 2018 he joined the cast of the Rai 1 television series “La compagnia del cigno” (“The company of the swan”) by Ivan Cotroneo, in which he played the role of Domenico, one of the seven protagonists. In November of the same year he had the opportunity to play at an event organized by Pope Francis on the occasion of the 2018 Synod on Youth.

In November 2019 he won the “Excellentissimus” award in Rome, receiving it from the hands of the master Ennio Morricone and in January 2020 he began filming the second season of “La Compagnia del cigno” (“The company of the swan”), which will be broadcast in March 2021.
