Gian Marco Castro

Gian Marco Castro is a Sicilian pianist and composer, a promise of the minimalist neoclassical universe as well as prolific author of soundtracks.

At a very young age, he began his piano studies at the Sicilian Piano Academy, where he had the opportunity to attend some master classes held by established pianists, including Grammy winner Vladimir Ashkenatzy.

Starting from 2003, he approached the world of cinema experimenting in the creation of soundtracks, coming immediately into contact with international directors; he won the “Los Angeles Cinefest” and “Die Seriale WebFest” in Germany thanks to the soundtracks created for “Hidden”, a film directed by Riccardo Cannella, with whom he also collaborated for a webspot/webseries produced by Mercedes Bens called “A-Live”.

His soundtracks reveal immediately his neoclassical vocation and soon his research leads to the release of the single “Perspectives”, a song whose chords aim to enclose the pictorial musicality of Vasilij Kandinskij, the all-round art of Man Ray and the Futurist one.

In 2018 he released his debut EP “Healing”, a work linked to the theme of travel and which to date has more than half a million plays on Spotify. In May 2019 he entered the artistic roster of INRI CLASSIC and presented his new single “Breath” at the PIANO CITY MILANO event on May 18th.
