No Mindless Scroll

A two-soul project that was born in 2019 from the idea of composer and arranger Carmelo Emanuele Patti and violinist Isabel Gallego Lanau, able to combine their different musical experiences and blend the sounds of stringed instruments, typical of classical music, with elements coming from pop and electronic music.

The choice of the name is a clever synthesis between the “mindless scrolling” phenomenon typical of the compulsive and alienating use of social media and the noun “Scroll” which indicates the curl of stringed instruments, a sign that is as recognizable as it is evocative of perceptual synaesthesia.

A game of assonances that alternates cold apathy with sensory involvement, overcomes the negative connotation while the stories and characters of social media become the heart of a musical narrative, evoking different sensations and images.
